"My job as an estate planner is to discern your family’s specific needs by listening and empowering you through the process. I look forward to getting to know you and your family while crafting an estate plan that accomplishes your goals and puts you at ease.”

MEET SONYA LINTON

Experienced attorney, wife & mother, and active member of the Durham Community.

Sonya Linton has been a member of the North Carolina bar since 2007, practicing in Trust and Estates and Civil Litigation during that period. Sonya grew up with the law, having spent many childhood weekends and summers in her father's law firm. This inspiration was the catalyst for her journey into the practice of law, starting with her undergraduate work at St. John's College where she received a double major in Philosophy and History of Math and Science in 2000. She then attended Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City, graduating in 2007. After graduation, she landed in Durham and has never looked back.

Sonya is an active member of the PTA at her children’s school, most recently organizing a service project to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Sonya is also a proud volunteer for the Wills for Heroes Foundation, an organization which provided estate plans pro bono for first responders in North Carolina. Sonya currently lives in Durham with her husband of 14 years and their two children.
